Interesting report on the UN website that i found - The Ugly Truth about Canadian Health Care. Just do a google search on Canadian Health Care. My basics are covered, I can go to the Dr for a cold and not have to worry about paying a bill, that is if I can find a Family Dr. I have to travel back to the town I grew up in - atleast an hour drive, because there are no physicians in any of the other surrounding cities (there are 4 within a 20-30 min drive). There are alot of things that are not covered, but the basics are there.

people resurrected not able to marry
by jennybear incan someone provide the societys view on whether resurrected are not able to marry.
it has been over 10 years since i was active and i at the time if i remember correctly the society said they would not.
if anyone knows whether they flip floped on this either would be great.

BluesBrother, as far as I know that is still the stand the Society takes. The first Sunday meeting I went to after my dad died, this was the talk, go figure! My mother was late, as usual, and we had to sit right up at the front. My mother had several meetings with the elders after this because she couldn't understand how "God" could be so cruel as to keep them apart like that in the "New System". I think she still struggles with that concept, but the only thing keeping her going is the thought that she will atleast beable to be his "friend" even if she can't be his wife.

What steps did you take to stop your association with the congregation?
by RULES & REGULATIONS inwhen i finally knew that the wts didn't have the truth,i decided to take steps to slow down and become an inactive member.
( i still have my whole family in.......so..... i prefer to remain inactive).

Actually, in my case it was the actions of the "elders" on a so called Shepherding visit that did it for me. I was so upset and disgusted after that visit that I couldn't set foot in the KH after that. I tried a few times, but everytime I saw the PO that came to my house I'd feel physically ill, and as I was getting ready to go, would have panic attacks.
Thanks to them, I am free now.

I was the same as newborn. I used to read mine all the time. It wasn't that I really believed in it, was just curious, but felt guilty about it.

I'm sharing my FIRST christmas with my son........
by nomoreguilt inthis wil be my younger son, 30. my new bride and myself have been celebrating christmas now for 5 years.
when we got married she told me that her friends called her mrs. christmas.
i soon found out why when we started to move her in the house.

I had my first Christmas with my older siblings on Sunday. We all met at my younger brothers house, they had a big tree with lots of presents under it, turkey dinner, the whole nine yards. I hadn't seen my older siblings since our fathers funeral in 2002. The only one missing was our youngest sister, sadly she is still in the clutches of the WT and our mother.
I look forward to many more celebrations with my family now.

I know where you are coming from r. Last year was the first year I participated in the SS. The person I was assigned to is a very infrequent poster on this board, and didn't post any ideas on what they would like, so I got a bunch of things that were unique to this area. I never heard from them if they got it, every so often I would bump the thread where people were posting when they got their gift. Finally in March I sent this person a message asking. I really hated having to ask like that, but hated the thought of it being lost in the mail even more.
Just a simple "Thank you I received your thoughful gift" is appreciated.
